Marriage Supper

Revelation 19:7-9:
“⁷Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. ⁸And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. ⁹And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

It is taught in pre-tribulationism that the Church is raptured prior to the opening of the “70^th week of Daniel” (interpreted as being the WRATH of GOD) and that at the arrival of the church in heaven, the wedding supper of the lamb will begin.

This “WEDDING SUPPER” will last for 7 years (“the time of the tribulation”) and will conclude prior to Christ’s return to earth with His saints. It is common to hear teaching’s that relate this “7 year” feast to ancient Jewish wedding tradition in which the Bride and Groom enter their Wedding Chambers and remain there for 7 days at which time they present themselves to the world as the consummated Husband and Wife.

This (they say) is the representation of a pre-tribulation rapture, followed by the “Marriage of the Lamb (7 years celebration)” and the return of Jesus (with His bride) at the end of “7 years of tribulation”.

Let’s see what the Bible says.

The Marriage Supper-7 Years Long

Revelation 19:7-9:

These are the true sayings of God.”

1) Scripture references to 7 year Marriage Feast? – NONE!

2) Scripture reference to the beginning of the Marriage of the Lamb at the beginning of the “7 years of tribulation”? – NONE!

3) Scripture reference to indicate that the Marriage Feast occurs in heaven? – NONE!

Note that Chapter 19 follows Chapters 18, 17, 16, 15, and so on. How can it POSSIBLY be said, that the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb” will occur at the BEGINNING of the 70^th week of Daniel (7 years of tribulation)? Back to Hollywood – Lights – Camera – Action – Cut! Cut! Wait a minute here! Are we talking about a Hollywood script, or the WORD of GOD?

If you will notice – immediately following the ANNOUNCEMENT of the preparation of the bride, the very next thing John sees is NOT a feast! He sees “Heaven Opened, and a White Horse” and Jesus upon that horse!

Revelation 19:11-13:
“¹¹And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. ¹² His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. ¹³And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”

- and those in White Linen, Revelation 19:14:

“¹⁴And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.”

This is the Return of Christ with His Saints, to the earth to destroy the remainder of His enemies and to set up His Millennial Kingdom ON EARTH!

Where does the wedding feast take place? In heaven?--- NO!! It takes place ON EARTH, at the beginning of the Kingdom on Earth? There will be NO WEDDING SUPPER IN HEAVEN that lasts 7 years--------------------

IMPOSSIBLE!
